Network Monitoring
Wanstor’s network monitoring service provides rapid notification to our helpdesk staff in the event of a critical equipment or service failure. Our network monitoring service also enables long term analysis of trends by the logging of CPU, memory, disk and network usage. This invaluable information can be accessed directly through a web portal and provides a tool not just for troubleshooting, but also for capacity and availability planning.
Our network monitoring team respond to any critical alert which occurs between 8.00am and 10.00pm within 5 minutes. Outside of these hours, for customers subscribing to our 24 hour service, critical alerts are passed onto our 24 hour team. The network monitoring service has been operational for 3 years and over this period the system has evolved to include
- Alerts based on user perspective application performance
- Synthetic transaction monitoring
- Storage of historic performance data
- Best practice performance analysis
- Root cause analysis
- Configuration baselines
- Application availability reporting
- Detailed application performance monitoring
- Monitoring of physical and virtual environments
Of course our network monitoring is a component of a complete service solution including rapid response and proactive work.
Monitoring your backups
On a daily basis we ensure that your backups operate correctly, maintaining a log of the success, byte count and overall time to completion. We also provide all of our clients with a routine quarterly audit of backups. This comprehensive check ensures not only that your backups are completing, but also determines that your selection list of files and folders is correct, that the rotation cycle matches your business requirements and that tapes are stored appropriately too.
