When will the new add-ons be available?
They’re available now, as add-ons to Microsoft 365 Business Premium from September 2025.
How can I purchase them?
You can purchase directly through Microsoft or work with Wanstor as your Microsoft Solutions Partner to deploy, configure, and manage the add-ons.
Are there seat limits?
Yes, each add-on is limited to 300 seats per customer, but you can mix and match across the offers.
Can I mix licensing for endpoint protection?
No. If you have both Defender for Business and Defender for Endpoint Plan 2, the system defaults to Defender for Business. To move all users to Plan 2, you’ll need to license everyone for it and contact Microsoft Support for the switch.
Can E5 Security Suite customers transition to the new Defender Suite?
Yes. From October 2025, customers using the E5 Security add-on can transition to the Defender Suite.
Can these tools support Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services?
Yes. Defender for Business supports event streaming to Azure Event Hub, Azure Storage, and Microsoft Sentinel — ideal for SMBs building MDR capabilities with Wanstor’s support.
